Rhode Island College (RIC) is the state's first and oldest institution of public higher education, founded in 1854. It is overseen by the President of Rhode Island College, who reports to the Office of the Postsecondary Commissioner (RIOPC).
The RIOPC is the administrative arm of the Rhode Island Council on Postsecondary Education, which provides oversight and governance for RIC and the Community College of Rhode Island.
Dr. Jack R. Warner was appointed President of Rhode Island College on July 1, 2022. The president presides over an executive cabinet comprised of the vice presidents of various offices and divisions throughout the college, as well as other high-ranking members of the college's leadership. The Office of the President is overseen by a chief of staff. RIC's Organizational Charts provide much more detail on where the college's offices, schools, and departments sit within the institution.
The President's Executive Cabinet members oversee these executive divisions and offices: the Office of the President; the Office of the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs; the Division of Administration and Finance; the Division of College Advancement; the Division of Student Success; the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion; the Office of External Affairs and the Office of Professional Studies and Continuing Education.
